taylor writes: Billy Davies fears his reputation is being tarnished after being sent to the stand in Derby County's last two Championship matches.
Davies will not be charged by the FA following the incident during Tuesday's home victory over Burnley but the Rams manager has a few more days to decide whether to appeal against his dismissal at Southend. He is keen on a personal hearing to answer the charge of using abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official.
Davies had never been sent off as a manager before the two recent incidents.
"I was sent off once in my playing career and yet I have now been sent off twice in the past two league games," he said.
"What I don't like is the reputation I am picking up because it is wrong.
"The inconsistency also worries me. Industrial language is used in the game and most of the time nothing is done about it. You get away with it for 40 games a season and yet one game you can use the same language and get sent to the stand.
"I slightly let myself down at Southend because I got involved in a situation where I used industrial language but it was certainly not directed towards the fourth official.
"I had nothing to defend or apologise for against Burnley because all I did was raise my hands above my head and shout to the referee to remind him that there are two teams on the pitch, which he took offence to."
Premiership referee Mike Riley also sent Burnley boss Steve Cotterill to the stand and he has been charged with using abusive and/or insulting words towards an opposing player.
Cotterill was involved in an exchange with Derby's left-back Mo Camara, a former Burnley player.
